Artificial Intelligence (AI)
PSCC Statement on the Use of AI in Teaching
On September 21, 2023, the Rector’s Council of the University of Creative Communication approved this binding statement as a framework for the creative, ethical, and safe use of AI tools. The University of Creative Communication is a progressive, professionally oriented university that reflects current trends related to the development and use of artificial intelligence. On October 1, 2023, a working group on AI issues (known as the AI LAB, email: ai@vskk.cz) was established to serve as a communication platform providing the latest information to both faculty and students. We believe that AI technologies will require innovative approaches to teaching methods and assessment systems, as well as critical and creative thinking when using these tools.
Key principles:
- in studies, teaching, and research activities, we primarily require independent creative and critical thinking;
- given the diverse nature of individual creative fields, students must always follow their instructor’s guidelines and assignments;
- the use of AI tools may serve as an additional acknowledged source at the outset or during the work process, but not as the result itself;
- we uphold academic integrity and honesty – AI-generated results presented in an unacknowledged verbatim or slightly modified form constitute plagiarism.
