Art Management

Visual Arts Programme (Code: B0211P310008)

At PSCC, art management is not only about organizing exhibitions or running cultural institutions, it’s about creating meaning, telling stories, and designing experiences that move audiences and transform communities. Students learn to combine organizational and entrepreneurial skills with narrative thinking, creative writing, and design thinking to shape the future of the cultural and creative industries. They will graduate ready to play an active role in the digital transformation of the global art ecosystem.

Unlike other art management programs focused mainly on economics or administration, PSCC’s approach bridges art, communication, and innovation:

  • Creative-industry driven – taught within an art and design school where students collaborate with peers in visual communication, film, and storytelling.
  • Practice-oriented and international – all courses are taught in English with real-world projects, internships, and close mentoring by practitioners from museums, galleries, creative agencies, and startups.
  • Storytelling-based – students learn to build narratives around art, exhibitions, and cultural projects that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Future-focused – integrating AI, digital communication, and creative technologies into management practice to prepare graduates for the ongoing transformation of the cultural sector.

Year 1: Foundations of Art, Culture, and Communication
The first year introduces students to the key concepts, contexts, and methods of art management and creative industries. Through a mix of theoretical seminars and studio-based practice, students develop a foundation in art history, cultural studies, and creative communication, alongside introductory courses in management, marketing, and writing. They learn how cultural organizations operate, how creative ideas are developed and communicated, and how to approach art as both a social and economic phenomenon.
Year 2: Curating, Storytelling, and Creative Practice
In the second year, students deepen their understanding of how art and culture function within today’s creative economy. They explore curation, audience engagement, storytelling, and entrepreneurship, working on real-world case studies and interdisciplinary projects with PSCC peers from film, visual communication, and creative writing. Courses integrate digital tools and technologies relevant to curatorial practice, content creation, and cultural event production.
Year 3: Innovation, Leadership, and Professionalization
The final year focuses on preparing students for leadership roles in the creative and cultural sectors. Emphasis is placed on strategic thinking, innovation, and independent practice. Students undertake a professional internship in a gallery, museum, creative agency, or cultural startup, applying their knowledge in real-world settings. The program culminates in a Final Project, allowing each student to conceptualize, curate, or manage an original cultural initiative that reflects their individual vision.
